Shelford Series 5052

Description

Part of Rupert Neve’s Shelford series, the 5052 is a module designed for rack mounting in a 500 series “lunchbox” rack, ideal for studio recording. This unit combines elements of the iconic Neve 1073 with a vertically-oriented mic preamp, a high-pass filter, and a 3-band inductor-based equalizer. It integrates modern innovations such as variable silk texture controls from the Portico II series and offers simultaneous pre- and post-tape operation.

• Class-A ±24V discrete topology with custom-wound transformers and inductors
• Selectable +48V phantom power, polarity reverse switch, and sweepable 20 to 250 Hz high-pass filter
• Portico II Silk Red/Blue and Texture controls for tonal adjustments up to 5% THD
• Transformer-coupled output for tape or DAW, allowing analog mix path use
• EQ with Neve 1064-inspired LF, Neve 1073-inspired mid, and inductor-based HF bands
• Low-feedback class-A discrete electronics in EQ sections
• Power via ±24V rails with external DC power supply
• Three XLR-3F connections for Mic In, Line In, and EQ In; two XLR-3M for Mic Out and Main Out
