Specifications – ModBase 09 Bass Drum Module

• Tune – Adjusts the pitch envelope of the VCO

• Pitch – Ranges from ultra-low 10 Hz up to 175 Hz

• Decay – Adjustable up to 2 seconds

• Harmonics – Enriches VCO harmonics for powerful, hard-hitting kicks

• Pulse – Controls the pure pulse element of the attack (affected by gate time)

• Noise – Adjusts the noise element of the attack (affected by gate time)

• Attack – Sets the mix level between pulse and attack

• EQ – Low-pass filter for shaping softer, 808-style kicks

• Gate T – Varies gate time from 0.1 ms to 16 ms

• Compression – Shapes the decaying envelope for tight, clicky or deep kicks

• MetNze (Metalized Noise) – Complex digital multitone noise with 499 patterns for unique attack textures

• CV1–CV4 – Assignable CV inputs (0–5V, incl. LFOs; supports negative values)

• Linear FM (LIN. FM) – True analog linear FM input for the bass drum VCO (non-quantized)

• ACC (Accent/Velocity) – CV input for dynamic accents or triggering via sequencer pulses

• LFOs – Two LFOs modulating bass drum pitch, synced to gate trigger. Waveforms include:

  • Saw (up & down), Sine (+/-), Triangle (+/-), Rectangle (+/-), partial shapes

• MIDI – Full MIDI CC control of all parameters (compatible with Alpha Base, XBASE999, MBase11)

• Bus Env – Mixes programmable audio bus signal into the Kick Drum VCA envelope (for experimental setups)
